'The History Train' by Alan Kane will pull crates containing the British Art Show exhibition through the streets of Norwich to their four exhibiting venues across the city. The procession of rare breed Suffolk Punches are decorated by horse brasses designed by members of the public and produced by Alan Kane.

It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Norbert Prangenberg, who died on Friday 29 June in Krefeld. Norbert had his first exhibition in London at Ancient & Modern in October 2010. He made a huge impression upon the gallery artists who he met while in the city, and during encounters abroad, it was apparent that this influence extended to all those that were lucky enough to be in his orbit. His generosity, humour, and gentleness will be greatly missed, though his paintings, drawings and ceramic sculptures will continue to bring joy to those that encounter them.

Nine contemporary artists have been invited to create new work inspired by the 17th-century gardens, their owner, Elizabeth Dysart, and their social and political context. Foloowing 'The Asbo Mystery Play and other Public Works', shown in Sadie Coles HQ in June 2011, Kane and Periton have collaborated again on 'eight fculptures' to replace an archival account of '10 statues of lead, whereof two upon stone and wood pedestals' that once stood in the gardens. The installation remains on display at Ham House in Chiswick until 23 September 2012.

Pile is a comprehensive sculpture show that sets out to question the conventions of showing work within a group exhibition. The works interact intimately, in some cases becoming 'piled' on top of one another. Rather than stand as pieces in their own right, their sense of autonomy is therefore lost to the curators' vision: the collection of individual objects becomes one overarching piece; a visual spectacle where the works act as the material and start to define the relationship between the artist and the curator.

ALAN KANE & JEREMY DELLER/ 'MY YARD'
Alan Kane and Jeremy Deller have curated an exhibition titled 'My Yard' from The British Council Collection for The Whitechapel Gallery, London opening 2 October and continuing until 6 December. Their selection celebrates British people and places through their selection of urban landscapes and examines Britain's industrial history and urban realities as seen by artists throughout the 20th century. Deller and Kane said, ?This exhibition has ended up being about home. The subject may not be immediately recognizable though, (especially to anyone born after 1970) as in the 1980s the UK got a sort of TV makeover, a lick of paint and some up-lighters etc. but the works we are showing indicate a Britain just below the plasterboard of this 'flip' job, a draughty and slightly damp property with foundations that you feel connect it, back through mud and bones, to all you think of when you talk of British history. Works include Edward Wadsworth's dynamic landscapes which reflect the upheaval of industry and World War I, and L.S. Lowry?s painting of his native Manchester, Industrial City, 1948. The Boyle Family find unexpected beauty in the built environment, while John Davies explores urban archaeologies in his photographic studies of Sheffield and Stockport. The folly of utopian town planning is parodied in Paul Noble?s fantastical city drawings. This display marks the British Council's 75th anniversary and is one of five displays presented over one year and selected by guest curators.

ALAN KANE/ 'FRAME', FRIEZE ART FAIR
Alan Kane presents 'The Collection of Mr & Mrs L.M.Kane within Frieze art fair in 2010. This includes his parents' children’s paintings, a photocollageof their grandchildren, a photograph of their audience with Pope John Paul II and less personal souvenir watercolours, mass produced ceramic ornaments and dried flowers. The work questions pejorative definitions of art and resulting cultural and social hierarchies. Kane’s intervention will not be offered for sale. The work follows a number of his recent works that pose similar questions of hierarchy in culture. These include Kane’s recent ‘Stratford Hoard’ 2008/9 for Transport for London and his ‘Folk Archive’ project (realised together with Jeremy Deller) exploring the notion of contemporary ‘folk art.’ Kane satirises art collecting and proposes that his parents’ collecting is culturally and intellectually equivalent.

Working alongside Resonance104.4fm radio the entire contents of Ruth Ewan's A Jukebox of People Trying to Change the World will be broadcast in its entirety on its own frequency. The songs will be broadcast live, day and night, from a booth inside Frieze Art Fair. In 2008, the Victoria & Albert Museum acquired a set of nine large scale photographs from Folk Archive: contemporary popular art from the UK. Purchased with the assistance of Outset Contemporary Art Fund and Paul Myners, the photographs represent the different themes in Folk Archive, which was curated by Alan Kane and Jeremy Deller, and currently continues to be shown as part of the British Council collection. The V&A are currently showing 'Protest House' (2001) in their new display The History of Photography.

Art on the Underground will present a major new comission by Alan Kane at Stratford
Underground Station opening on the 17 July. The Stratford Hoard comprises of
a series of eclectic displays of private collections belonging to people who
live in, work near to or have a particular connection to Stratford station. These
will include 1000 sugar cubes belonging to Elizabeth Parker, decorative souvenir
teaspoons owned by Kacey Young, and printed milk bottles collected by Tyler Harrington.
